Bands
Music Director Pat Morley is lining up the bands for the 2013 Kentucky State BBQ Festival and we’re brining back some of the best. The Saturday Night Blues Party will be the best yet.
Long Tall Deb, who gave us a blazing set at the 2012 Festival will be the close-out band for the Saturday Night Blues Party. She just released a new (and great) CD, Raise Your Hands on Vizztone Records featuring the Roomful Of Blues horns, Reese Wynans and Jimmy Thackery. If you saw Deb last year, you won’t miss this. If you didn’t sticka round for Deb’s set last year, you are in for a treat.
After getting a great reception opening the Festival for the past two years, Big Poppa Stampley will be joining the Saturday Night Blues Party.
Tall, Dark and Handsome (a.k.a. TDH4) will be making their debut appearance at the 2013 Kentucky State BBQ Festival. They are slated for a Saturday slot, time will be announced.
Saturday afternoon will feature Coralee and the Townies just before the Saturday Night Blues Party kicks off.
This rounds out a very strong Saturday lineup. Come early, stay late – enjoy the music.
Demos
We’ll be bringing back the Barbecue Demos for 2013 in a big way! We’ll be announcing soon who will be conducting the demos this year, but you can be sure it will be someone you will NOT want to miss.
Events
The Bourbon Barrel Art Auction will be held on Friday, September 6th. Sponsors, artists and anyone interested in art, bourbon, barbecue and a great time should keep an eye on the Bourbon Barrel Art Project page for details.
The Kentucky State BBQ Festival Bean Eating Contest will make it’s annual appearance on the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 8. Does anyone have the power to take on 2 time bean eating champion Steven Reed? Can we provide fame to the KY BBQ Festival Bean Eating Champion?
The Kentucky State BBQ Festival Hog Calling Contest will also be on the afternoon of Sept. 8. Flex your hog calling muscles and be a part of BBQ Festival history!
